<p><strong>Giải thích:</strong></p>
<p dir="ltr"><strong>1 + 2:</strong> Diễn tả một hành động đang xảy ra thì bị một hành động khác cắt ngang. Hành động đang diễn ra là trang trí -> chia quá khứ tiếp diễn “were decorating”, hành động cắt ngang là đến giúp -> chia quá khứ đơn “came”.</p>
<p dir="ltr"><strong>3 + 4 + 5: </strong>Diễn tả hành động xảy ra ở một thời điểm xác định “At 4 o’clock” -> chia quá khứ tiếp diễn “was preparing”, “was wrapping”, “were blowing”.</p>
<p dir="ltr"><strong>6 + 7:</strong> Diễn tả một hành động đang xảy ra thì bị một hành động khác cắt ngang. Hành động đang diễn ra là ngồi -> chia quá khứ tiếp diễn “were sitting”, hành động cắt ngang là gõ cửa -> chia quá khứ đơn “knocked”.</p>
<p dir="ltr"><strong>8: </strong>Có “by the time”, vế sau có “was” -> vế trước chia quá khứ đơn “got”.</p>
