<p>• We often use <strong><em>were</em></strong> instead of <strong><em>was</em></strong> in the <strong><em>if</em>-clauses</strong>.</p>
<p><em>(Chúng ta thường sử dụng <strong>were</strong> thay vì <strong>was</strong> trong mệnh đề if.)</em></p>
<p><strong>If</strong> Josh <strong>were interested</strong> in the job, he <strong>would accept</strong> it.</p>

<p>• To <strong>give advice</strong>, we use the expression: <strong><em>If I were you …</em></strong></p>

<p><strong>If I were you</strong>, I <strong>would ask</strong> for a pay raise.</p>

<p>We use conditional type 1 to talk about real situations that are likely to happen in the present or future. We use conditional type 2 to talk about unreal, imaginary situations in the present or future.</p>
