<p>Hi everyone! I'm back from Hispaniola, an island in the Caribbean shared between the Dominican Republic and Haiti. I stayed in Jaragua National Park in the Dominican Republic.</p>
<p>There are 16 national parks and protected areas in the Dominican Republic. The Jaragua National Park isn't as popular as some of the other national parks, but I prefer quieter places. Jaragua is on the coast, so part of the park is on land and part of it is at sea.</p>
<p>While I was there, I saw a rhinoceros iguana. I love reptiles and I know all about this endangered species. They're shy, but they are powerful when they need to protect themselves. I tried to take a photo of it, but I dropped my camera. The iguana heard the noise and hid in the rocks. At least, I got to see one! Next time I go, I'll be more careful.</p>
