<p><strong>Australia Day (26th January)</strong></p>
<p>Australia Day is a celebration of Australia history and the different cultures that live there. It is a public holiday and there are lots of outdoor concerts and festivals. Families come together to enjoy big barbecues. In the evening, there are fireworks displays all over the country.</p>
<p><strong>New Year’s Eve (31st December)</strong></p>
<p>Sydney is the place to be on New Year’s Eve. When the clock strikes midnight, one of the biggest fireworks displays in the world explodes in the sky. Organisers let off fireworks of all colours from Sydney Harbour Bridge, Sydney Opera House and many boats out in the harbour. It’s the busiest night of the year, so arrive early if you want to watch the show!</p>
