Every year on 17 March, Irish people all over the world celebrate St. Patrick's Day in memory of the person who introduced Christianity to the country. St. Patrick grew up in Wales. At the age of 16, he was kidnapped and spent six years as a slave in Ireland. Then he escaped to France, where he studied. Later St. Patrick decided to return to Ireland. There are several legends of Saint Patrick, one being that he banished all snakes from the country.
